Located in Brighton, in the United Kingdom, the project for this clinic involved the rehabilitation of an existing Victorian building composed of a basement and four floors above ground. Having analysed the existing conditions, the choice was made to demolish much of the interiors, exposing the characteristic brickwork structure and allowing for the creation of a contemporary space that coexists with and takes advantage of the building’s original features.

The brief required the development of a clinic dedicated to cutting edge dental medicine, housing a specialized surgery area with full anaesthetic equipment, a dental prostheses laboratory and specialized imaging equipment.

From an aesthetic point of view, the space was developed taking into account the philosophy of modern odontology, transmitting confidence and distancing itself from references commonly associated with clinical environments, while keeping a discrete yet memorable presence.

Twisting metal blades, overlapping the exposed brickwork wall, bring rhythm, character and visual impact to the reception and waiting area, which are located on the ground floor.

The stairway is highlighted by the presence of the existing Victorian construction.

The upper floors contain four surgery rooms, the administrative and staff areas and a patient recovery lounge.
